Our institute won the third prize in the final of the "Huawei College Student Power Electronics Innovation Competition".

On August 24th, the final of the third "Huawei College Student Power Electronics Innovation Competition" was held at Huawei European Town in Dongguan. A team from our school, "Hengaijingcheng GreenLab," guided by Professor Qiang Chen, won the third prize (team members: Chenghao Bao, Sheng Su, Shixiao Yang, Shilong Wang, Ruiqi Yin). This is the first time our university has won an award in this competition.

The competition started its registration in February 2023 and lasted for 6 months. The theme was "Design of Small, Efficient DC-AC Converters". With the focus on extreme efficiency, the competition encouraged algorithm innovation. A total of 131 teams with 567 participants from around the world registered for the competition. After the preliminary selection, our university, along with teams from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and others, advanced to the final round, totaling 21 teams. Following the on-site prototype testing and defense, two first prizes, two second prizes, three third prizes, and four outstanding prizes were awarded. Our university's team ranked fifth overall and won the third prize.

The competition judges consist of renowned experts in the power electronics industry and Huawei's chief technical engineers. This competition is widely recognized as one of the top innovation events in the field of power electronics for university students and serves as a high-quality platform for exploring cutting-edge technologies in new energy among elite power electronics students nationwide. Our institute's power electronics discipline has always been committed to guiding students' thinking and fostering knowledge innovation, with the goal of cultivating outstanding young talents in the field of new energy. This award reflects the comprehensive strength of our institute's power electronics discipline and the achievements in cultivating innovative talents.
